Supporting vulnerable children and Young people to achieve meaningful education and relevant training for sustainability in Uganda and Jamaica.
Noel and Valerie Grier Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that was formed in the United States, it’s center of operations is in Uganda. While charitable giving is a source of revenues for the organization, the majority of it funding is from its fee for service tutoring program. The tutoring service was conceived after fundraising failed to provide the necessary funds to achieve the foundation’s goals.
The foundation recruits and trains Ugandan teachers and university students (living in Uganda) to harness technology and tutor students in the United States. This partnership between Ugandan tutors and their American students produces much of the funding needed to achieve the foundation’s objectives.
To promote and protect rights of children through education, skills training, livelihood development and health initiatives from marginalized areas of Jamaica and Uganda
A school child at RUKUNGIRI UNIVERSAL PRIMARY SCHOOL. CLASS. Having been born in a very large family of 12 children yet poor as it solely depends on subsistence farming; growing of food crops on a very small scale, a twelve year old Moreen
was unable to continue with her education at the end of primary six. As a young girl, dropping out of school at that age meant working on the fields with parents and other siblings until a
man showed up to marry her. As Luck would have it, Moreen was saved from a such heartbreaking situation when Nydia offered to pay her school fees after one year of missing
school. Great thanks to Nydia for restoring Moreen's lost hope.
A school child at ST Charles Lwanga Primary CLass, Lucia is a seven year old girl, born in Mwizi , one of the rural villages of Uganda. Coming from a very impoverished family, with all family members struggling to find even the
basic needs life like food and medical care, Lucia was unable to start school up to the age of seven when NVG Grier foundation offered to aid in paying her school fees and providing other necessary resources like books. It is disturbing to imagine that such a child would never know how to read or write in all her
life!
A high school class one student at ST Cecilia Girls' Vocation Secondary school. Shabellah is a fourteen year old girl from Ruti village, mbarara Uganda. After her primary school, a financial crisis at home, with poor peasant parents, meant that she was unable to continue to secondary school. For most young girls in the rural areas of Uganda, such a condition means early forced marriages and Shabellah narrowly escaped such fate when Owen Grier offered to pay for her secondary school.

Shallon is currently studying from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda doing her degree in Education(Math and Chemistry) Like Shallon, there are many young and vulnerable girls in poor families across Uganda that would love to see an impact in their lives through Education.
